Account Manager – Conference and Events — Event Space – East London – up to £40k + competitive bonus

We are looking for a successful Conference and Events Sales / Account Manager, with demonstrable experience developing and executing sales strategies across multi-disciplinary sectors and a solid track record in managing a portfolio of clients, to join a leading events venue in the Docklands, London.

Joining a world class venue, the main focus of this Conference and Events Account Manager role is to proactively generate new business across a range of industries, sectors and markets and

to develop existing and third party accounts by identifying and closing profitable business for the venue’s facilities and services.

Therefore, we are looking for someone who has a successful track record developing and executing sales strategies, has exceptional negotiation and communication skills, is creative and innovative and is experienced in securing preferred supplier status with corporate clients.

You will need to be driven, results focused and clear-minded in the pursuit of objectives. Strong business acumen and the ability to demonstrate how to identify high vs low potential business is key to being successful in this role.

 

Key responsibilities as the Conference and Events Account Manager will include:

  • Proactively identifying new business opportunities to close high yield business quickly and efficiently
  • Achieving and exceeding annual individual and company targets
  • Maintaining a network of contacts and agencies that enhances opportunities for new and repeat business
  • Effectively managing and developing new and existing accounts ensuring high levels of repeat business and account growth
  • Attending networking events and industry related conferences
  • Achieving high levels of customer satisfaction and service and developing strong client relationships
  • Maintaining records and producing reports, taking responsibility for the maintenance and accuracy of data

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience in Conference and Events Sales Account Management
  • Previous experience developing and executing sales strategies across multi-disciplinary sectors
  • A solid track record of managing a portfolio of clients
  • Demonstrable success in achieving / exceeding targets
  • Proven ability to grow and maintain key accounts, developing account relationships and spotting opportunities to maximise revenues and exceed client expectations
  • Successful business development experience within corporate, agency, industry, associations or other events industry clients, using a destination marketing approach and consultative selling techniques
  • Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills
  • Creative, innovative and strategic sales person who is focused on delivering success
  • Ability to demonstrate how to identify high vs low potential business
  • Experience of forecasting and analysing sales data to inform sales strategy and meet KPIs
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build successful business relationships
  • IT literate including good MS Office and database management experience
  • Dynamic approach with the ability to wok under pressure
