Diversity and Inclusion Manager – City Law Firm, London – c£75k + benefits

Our client, a leading City Law Firm, is currently looking for an experienced Diversity and Inclusion Manager, with a legal or professional services background, to join their HR department. 

Reporting to the HR Director, the Diversity and Inclusion Manager will work closely with the HR team and senior stakeholders in the business to drive forward the Diversity and Inclusion objectives. As the main contact for Diversity and Inclusion queries, you will be responsible for ensuring that initiatives are aligned, as well as working operationally on priorities and specific initiatives, the design and delivery of training and policy implementation.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering on diversity and inclusion initiatives and will possess a good understanding of how to add value and demonstrate the value within an organisation. You will have the capability to provide both hands on operational and strategic level support, and will be a proficient project manager.

We’re looking for someone dynamic and forward-thinking with strong organisational skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels.

Key responsibilities as Diversity and Inclusion Manager will include:

  • Researching, applying and promoting diversity initiatives to deliver the firm’s diversity and inclusion objectives designed to attract, retain and develop diverse talent and foster inclusive leadership
  • Proactively developing effective working relationships with key stakeholders to drive forward the D&I agenda
  • Sharing best practice, providing advice, guidance and support on equality, diversity and inclusion issues
  • Organising and leading monthly diversity and inclusion meetings
  • Generating and implementing ideas to support and mark notable dates, events and initiatives
  • Coordinating and delivering training on equality, diversity and inclusion issues
  • Monitoring and ensuring delivery of the diversity and inclusion objectives, tracking and reporting on progress and deliverables
  • Maintaining diversity data, ensuring its accuracy and undertaking data capture and analysis
  • Producing reports and presentations, providing updates, advice, best practice or solutions to the Management Team
  • Working closely with the HR, Business Development & Marketing and Knowledge Information Services teams

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience in similar Diversity and Inclusion roles, ideally within the legal sector or professional services
  • Strong academics
  • Proven track record of delivering on diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • A good understanding of how to add value and demonstrate this value within an organisation
  • Demonstrable experience of working with senior management on a range of diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • Ability to effectively use data to assist decision making and reporting on ROI
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to provide operational and strategic support
  • Professional and highly organised
  • Strong communication skills and excellent relationship management skills with proven ability to gain credibility at all levels
  • IT literate
